Airfreight Branch Manager REF ZZ 836

We have a medium sized client based around the Heathrow area looking to recruit a Branch Manager.  You will be from a freight background and have Managerial experience.

To  manage the Heathrow branch/gateway in an effective and profitable manner. To deliver clear operational direction, leadership and develop the operational management team ensuring that the specified performance levels are constantly met as agreed with the company & customer. Ensure that the warehouse operation is managed in a professional way ensuring compliance with H&S regulations.
Review and develop existing standards and KPI’s to improve cost and operational efficiencies. Be the point of contact with the customer/overseas office for any escalated operational queries.
Manage the performance & cost of the external suppliers to the branch. Develop & drive the branches key account management process with a target to increase the revenue/margin by selling other products or new routings to current branch clients. Ensure all professional certifications and maintained and monitor company credit control policies and others
To enforce / carry out H + S / Environmental / Site Operations / Finance and Site Admin/ CAA (aviation security) requirements of the company

• Highly numerate and literate
• Ability to use the IT systems operational systems(CargoWise)
• Experienced in Air Freight Forwarding
• Good management and motivational skills.
• Trained to the required level under Aviation Security regulations.
• Excellent understanding of the market position.
• Targeting appropriate companies and monitoring sector activity and arranging supplier visits.
• Provide new ideas for sales promotions/marketing.
• Build a carrier score card system using KPI information.
• Manage the site P&L.
• Management and monitoring of new business and ad-hoc special projects.
• Convince external and internal suppliers to provide competitive services
• Gathering of market intelligence and knowledge regarding competitors.
• Production of regular progress reports as requested by the company.
• In-depth knowledge of import & export logistics industry sales/operational management.

Salary £ 60-65k Plus a car or car allowance
