Export & Import Co-ordinator

This regional office of a long established freight forwarder requires an experienced export and import clerk for their busy office.  The office is in North Yorkshire and would required an applicant to be a car driver and have a car.

Main function of the job

Export & Import Co-ordinator Role:

  1. Extensive client liaison, building relationships and maximising the potential of the forwarding business.
  2. Extensive supplier liaison to develop reliable and cost effective services to every Worldwide destination.
  3. Calculating freight quotations for export and import Sea freight shipments.
  4. Completing operational administration including job cards and sending booking confirmation to the suppliers.
  5. Raising all of the appropriate operational documentation that is applicable to the shipping terms and destination of the consignments.
  6. Managing the Sea freight consignments in transit through to successful completion and delivery.
  7. Invoicing out and completing the job files.

Working Environment:  Positive team environment working in a brand new office.

Skills & Experience required

  1. A minimum of 5 years’ freight forwarding experience in Sea Freight.
  2. Knowledge and experience of shipping documentation, letters of credit, ATR, EUR’s
  3. Confident and clear communication skills.
  4. Proven success of building customer and supplier relationships.
  5. Strong negotiating skills.
  6. Numerate with experience of calculating freight quotations.
  7. Good IT (Microsoft) skills.

Salary in the region of £24000 to £26000 aae.
