Head Of Sales

Our client based around the Berkshire area is looking for a Head of Sales

Basic Salary £ 60k plus £5k car allowance OTE £30k Private Health for employee Life assurance, 25 days Holiday

Job Spec:

  • Hit or exceed sales targets.
  • Develop and maintain effective sales pipeline identifying short, mid, long term prospects and progress through sales process.  Prepare and present regular activity reports.
  • Develop & maintain effective sales forecasts.  Prepare and present to sales team and senior management.
  • Analyse performance data.
  • Support and implement sales strategy.
  • Manage and continuously iterate sales process to support current and future business: end to end, from initial enquiry through to conversion and on going customer account management/growth.
  • Mentor and train sales team.
  • Recruit, hire, and on-board new sales people.
  • Create targeted, time driven & task based sales plan for sales team.
  • Build & maintain a knowledge of marketplace, industry, customers & product specific compliance sufficient to be able to communicate a full understanding of  sales proposition and business strategy in order to sell our clients solutions.
  • Actively prospect for new customers.
  • Represent our client at trade association/industry exhibitions to promote our services, network and gain new leads/referrals.
  • Maximise inbound transactional business performance in Road Transport, Global Forwarding and Secure Warehousing through effective  pricing strategy.
  • Ownership of  Sales tools.
  • Manage Bid/tender/RFQ/RFI response.
  • Keep abreast of and report on competitor activity.
  • Management of effective Sales IT platform.
  • Manage customer satisfaction including complaint resolution.
  • Actively develop and sustain strong relationships with internal (colleagues/team) and external (key people within customer organisations).
  • Resourcing, performance management & coaching/development of sales team.
  • Champion  behaviours & values within Sales team.

  • At all times actively support the Company values, aims, objectives, policies and procedures.
  • Undertake any other duties as may be required by Senior Management commensurate with the responsibilities of the job or the requirements of the business.
  • General office admin; own filing, franking post, purchase orders etc.
