PA to UK GM

We are looking for a individual on a part time basisi to assist the general manager of this large forwarder. You will be assisting in a number of areas but mostly in helping to prepare weekly/monthly financial reports for HQ so experience in all forms of standard business packages including spread sheets etc is a must. You may also be working on a sales support role i.e. supporting the sales team, making appointments etc.

We are looking for an accountant to join this large freight forwarder. Responsibilities will Include:

  • Reporting directly to the financial director.
  • Preparation of UK monthly Management and Financial Accounts.
  • Preparation and development of monthly Management Information Reporting Systems to provide meaningful management information for Non-Financial Managers.
  • Responsibility for reconciliation, reporting and accuracy of UK accounting information.
  • Preparation of Monthly VAT returns ensuring compliance in all UK VAT matters.

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER (Maternity Cover)

We are looking for  Human Resources Manager to come in and take over for Materniry cover for the next year. Duties Will Include:

  • Ensure that all relevant HR Policies, Procedures and Guidelines are implemented and followed and meet all legislative requirements;
  • Provide HR Key Figures to the HR Director to meet internal and external requirements (staff turnover, appraisals, leave of absence etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with local law, employee rights and with the company's code of conduct
  • Ensure the integrity of HR related information in the Area;
  • Advise Managers on all areas of Employee relations including Disciplinary and Grievance procedures, family rights, absence issues and breaches of company policy issues;

BRANCH TRAINER

We are looking for a Branch trainer to join this big company reporting to the distric manager.

Reporting Structure:

  • The Branch Trainer reports directly to the District Manager for the branch.  The District Manager is responsible for ensuring the Branch Trainer has support for their tasks within the management structure of the branch.  They are also responsible for ensuring that the Branch Trainer is managed on a day-by-day basis in terms of timeliness, attitude and work effort. 
  • Branch Training is something that the branch needs to perform in order to ensure that personnel are given the support and tools to do their job functions successfully.
  • The Branch Trainers have a thin dotted line of responsibility to the Regional Trainer for the area where the Branch is situated.  
  • The Regional Trainer is responsible for the development of the Branch Trainer, and to ensure that the Branch Trainer receives guidance, assistance and material to work on. The Regional Trainer will ensure that all branch courses, projects and effort, support the aims of the branch at all times. In effect, the Regional Trainer ensures that the Branch Training supports the requirements of all branches as well as meeting the standards set by the Global Training organisation.

The Position:

  • The Branch Trainer is primarily responsible for the administration and delivery of training within the branch using the training tools available. If a training solution is not readily available the branch trainer should communicate with the Regional Trainer or Training Manager for help in implementing a training solution.
  • The Branch Trainer must be able to communicate effectively within the Branch Organisation from desk level operations to management.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • The Branch Trainer must ensure that all Operational managers receive support and assistance in delivering and recording Self Directed Training within their departments. 
  • The Branch Trainer must ensure that Training tools are used effectively, that Training processes are followed, and also assist Managers to use these tools that support the development of the branch employees.
  • The Branch Trainer must ensure that each new employee receives a local New Employee pack. The arrival of a new employee or a request for changes regarding the pack information should be communicated to the Regional Trainer to ensure that a)    The New Employee  Pack is continually up to date b)    The programme can be implemented
  • Each Employee has a Development map for the departments for which they report. The Branch Trainer along with the Manager will be responsible for ensuring that each Employee has this map, but also attends the courses and workbooks that allow the employee to be developed, trained and coached for success.
  • The Branch Trainer will be responsible for ensuring that the branch requirements for training are met within a reasonable time frame either by a Regional Trainer or by delivering a branch training class.
  • We expect that delivery skills of a Branch Trainer develop to a level that enables them to support and deliver branch training to employees and on occasion support the delivery of regional training courses within their own branch.
  • It is envisaged that a Branch Trainer will deliver between 8 to 10 hours of training per branch per month.  This applies for each branch that the Branch Trainer supports for training.
  •  If training requirements are not supportable at the time of request due to development of course materials, the Branch Trainer with the assistance of Regional Training can ask for development time to be allocated to meet the requirements of the branch.

Peer Structure:

  • Branch Trainers will usually be recruited from existing pool of senior operational staff and Supervisory personnel. Branch Trainers must have the integrity within the branch to deliver against the requirements, and will be expected to have shown interest in assisting people within the branch. 

Training and Development:

  •  The Branch Trainer will attend the Facilitation Course (2 day) and Self Directed Training Workshop (1 day).
  • The Facilitation course trains candidates in the ISD (Instructional System Design) Methodology of training. The ISD model is made up of 5 components:
  •  Needs analysis – identifying whether the issues can be solved through Training, and if so, identifying what skills need to be trained to make the problem go away.
  • Design – when we have decided that Training is the answer to the problem, each of the stakeholders needs to agree that the training proposed will solve it.  The design process is where the Trainer creates the document that the stakeholders sign off against.
  • Development – where the Trainer takes the design and creates the course.
  • Delivery – the delivery of Training is the most visible part of the job.  We train our trainers to deliver using facilitation, which has been proven to increase effectiveness, retention levels and learning.
  • Evaluation – once the Training has been delivered, we need to find out whether it has been effective or not.
  • The Workshop trains candidates in the methodology behind Self- Directed training and how to support and use the training tools that are available.
  • Each Branch Trainer will concentrate on supporting training within the branch. Possible Career development in the Training Organisation means progressing toward Regional Training, Design, or Management Development training programs.

AIR PRICING COORDINATOR

We are looking for an Air pricing coordinator to join this large freight forwarder for a temp to perm position.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing air freight pricing and formal response to both internal and external customers.
  • Evaluation and support of Global tender responses - Assisting UK Air product manager with marketing initiatives of new products & support of ongoing / new projects.
  • Internal and external customer support
  • Procurement of airfreight pricing from carrier(s)
  • Submission of  pricing to internal/external customers .
  • Maintenance of company pricing database
  • Upkeep of department records and reports
  • Use of Exel and Word
  • Stock replenishment & the monitoring of supplies
  • General administration.

Experience Required: 

  • General forwarding related qualifications or experience.
  • Good standard of education.
  • Good PC skills                                               
  • A good knowledge of airfreight would be advantageous.
  • Some commercial awareness - Ambitious,Hardworking and Accurate

ACCOUNTS CLERK

An Accounts Clerk is needed to work in this logistics office based in MIDDLESEX.  The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of their accounts, credit control, debt management, end of month accounts, etc.  2 years experience in a similar role / background minimum.  An understanding of dealing with VAT or wages will be an advantage.
