Overseeing the day to day operations of the DG department with regards to processing, quoting, customer service and compliance requirements. Supervising and supporting the DG team providing encouragement to team members and identifying areas of training.
Salary £30-33k
To quote, process, pack and make compliant all DG freight requiring shipping around the world while complying with IATA and ADR guidelines. A high standard of accuracy and customer care is always needed.
all DG parcels are completed in a timely manner and exported accurately on time.
The job role:
·Organise the daily workload: ensuring balance between all team members
·Providing guidance: leadership, troubleshooting any issues and finding sustainable solutions
·Training staff: to become proficient in understanding DG regulations and making sure that consignments are processed accurately and efficiently
·Ensure that team members:
Understand DG Rules and regulations
Complete DG declarations within IATA and ADR and regulations
Understand and work within written departmental SOPs
Work as a team and on their own initiative when required
Complete all tasks as required
·Ensure shipments are ready for billing on a weekly basis
·Stock control
·Reviewing and updating departmental working instructions and SOPs
·Recording non-compliance and DG occurrences, undertaking the necessary actions and reporting to line manager any financial impact on the company
·To monitor that both internal and external communication is delivered in a professional and timely manner offering a high standard of customs service, by providing accurate and appropriate information
·Ensure all daily imports and export tasks are completed with correct pricing
·To work closely with all other departments
Compliance/Health and Safety
·Ensure team members receive the communication and instructions needed to act in accordance with policies and procedures.
·Adhere to health and safety policy, and other requirements relating to care of equipment.
·Ensuring work areas and warehouse are kept clean, neat and well-organised.
